The Judith Lee Stronach Center - Department of Art History & Archaeology
Stepping out of the elevator on the 8th floor and turning left, visitors to Schermerhorn Hall see, through a large glass panel, a dramatically lighted fragment of a classical sculpture and behind it a great wall of books housed in glass-fronted cases.
This view into the Judith Lee Stronach Center is the result of a major renovation carried out over the summer of 2009. This transformation of the space formerly occupied by the departmental slide library was funded by a generous bequest from Judith Lee Stronach. Designed in collaboration with Professor Francesco Benelli and doctoral candidate Carolyn Yerkes.
